Healthy Pancreas

Yesterday, nutritionist Barbara Lagoni in her wonderfully informative talk reminded us about the dangers of damaging pancreas with our improper daily diets. The diabetes sets in when our pancreas are no longer functioning properly.

Why should we be surprised that diabetes "epidemic" is rampant? I think what truly rampant is our complacency when it comes to giving a second thought about what we are actually putting into our mouth, and what results should we expect if we refuse to break our "bad" (I would call them "uninformed")  habits. We give more thought to what type of gasoline we put into our cars than what we put into the only vehicle that caries us all through our lives - our body.

We can blame everyone and everything for our food choices, but the blame game does not restore good health. Learning and changing our food consumption behaviors does.

Herophilus About Health

"When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot manifest, strength cannot fight, wealth becomes useless, and intelligence cannot be applied."

A Greek anatomist and surgeon, the father of Anatomy,
dissected and wrote about the brain, being the first one to describe its cavities, the cerebral ventricles, which he associated with mental functions.
In my  view, only babies are truly helpless. The rest of us have free will and free choices in life, thanks to the marvelous tool called brain. At the end of the day, only one person is responsible for fueling the amazing vehicle that takes one through the journey called LIFE, and that vehicle is the body. Guess who that person in charge is?

How come we give more consideration to what kind of gasoline we put into our cars than how to properly fuel our bodies? Why we get so worked up about someone leaving typos and misspellings in one's writings and speaking with an accent, and care less about what came through our own digestive system on any given day?

Hence, my question of the day:
How much longer will it take the human kind to fall in love with life deep enough to feel personally responsible for better personal health?

Put Your Best Face - Healthy Face - Forward

The very first time I saw Shaklee skin care and cosmetics display and demonstration at a conference I was very intrigued but intimidated. One has to be a cosmetologist to understand all the products and to correctly use them, I thought. In the past few years, after taking a closer look at the information about the skin care line and trying some products myself, I realized that there is only one thing that truly matters: Shaklee skin care and cosmetics products do not harm your skin, and do not mask the flaws, but, instead, do actually make your skin healthier, and significantly improve its natural appearance.
After the summer when I discovered Enfuselle® and Minerelles®  for myself, my friends noticed right away my healthier and more radiant face. I realized then that Shaklee skin care and makeup make a perfect gift. That’s how my mother and my sister both received an entire set of these vitamin-infused “lotions and potions” on their special occasions. Those readers who already use Enfuselle® and Minerelles® can, of course,  imagine how fortunate these two women were.

Last Monday, the Dream Team invited a prominent Shaklee leader Deb Villarese to introduce Shaklee skin care at their exciting event in Oak Lawn. I first saw Deb presenting at the conference in Chicago. Award-winning businesswoman is a constant supportive voice at many Shaklee training events and conferences. In her very clear concise presentation she shared the secrets of her successful Shaklee business that in her case specifically was spearheaded simply by her creatively showing Shaklee skin care products to her friends. I was especially impressed that Deb was a participant in the scientific studies and tests done repeatedly by the company. She did not just talk the talk, she walked the walk. Deb did remind us all that with the vast variety of items that Shaklee offers it is realistic to build a successful personal business focusing on just one category of the products, especially if they are patented like Shaklee skincare line is.

The top quality and reliable performance of products based on modern science research, also the exceptional personal business building opportunity make Shaklee distributors proud to share the Shaklee opportunity and Shaklee Difference. If you are a distributor, you know what I am talking about here. If you are just a bystander, I am inviting you to take a closer look at the Shaklee Opportunity. There are over a million distributors in several countries, and you can choose whom to work with, but if you choose me, you will receive a reliable assistant, dependable mentor, and a dedicated friend. Let's put our truly best face forward.

"Don't make a mountain out of a molehill..."

“Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill,” - the voice in my head is so wise and proper (where is it coming from?) It immediately makes me ashamed of being frustrated over little mundane nothings. Few events of the previous weeks once again have helped me to put into perspective such seemingly disastrous nuisances of life like clogged up sink or broken tools.

Recently, one of my many Shaklee mentors survived a horrible accident resulting in a head injury; my friend underwent two life saving surgeries; while in the doctor’s office, my mom lost her conscience and ended up in the emergency room without definite diagnosis. Three people in completely different places and distinct situations, but they all are on my mind and in my heart today. Their ordeal is once again a reminder to me that Life is the most precious “possession” in this world, and the healthy life is a gift not to be disrespected.

Usually I read when I have to wait. Lately, I find it more interesting to observe people and talk to those who have time to talk. In one week, while spending time in the waiting rooms and offices of various medical facilities, I met some wonderful people who are saving lives and helping those who are ill to make their existence more bearable. I met many people who through their professional work and humane attitude give hope to helpless strangers.

You probably noticed yourself that a kind encouraging world, one sincere smile and caring look received from  others grows “wings” in us, making it possible to persevere, to endure, to bounce back.  Be it a surgeon, nurses, hospital staff, ambulance personnel, receptionists, they all are wonderful people just doing their job with dedication thus changing the world for the better. I am sincerely grateful to all of them.
