Yesterday, nutritionist Barbara Lagoni in her wonderfully informative talk reminded us about the dangers of damaging pancreas with our improper daily diets. The diabetes sets in when our pancreas are no longer functioning properly.
Why should we be surprised that diabetes "epidemic" is rampant? I think what truly rampant is our complacency when it comes to giving a second thought about what we are actually putting into our mouth, and what results should we expect if we refuse to break our "bad" (I would call them "uninformed") habits. We give more thought to what type of gasoline we put into our cars than what we put into the only vehicle that caries us all through our lives - our body.
We can blame everyone and everything for our food choices, but the blame game does not restore good health. Learning and changing our food consumption behaviors does.
